Buy This Not That: Ring Guard
I think it’s fair to say that Jake proposed with a beautiful ring. The only problem with it is that it’s too big for my finger. I thought I could manage without getting it resized until it fell off while I was grocery shopping one day. Needless to say, this prompted me to find a solution.
Jake and I went back to the store where he purchased the ring to see if they could offer any insight. Long story short, they wanted us to spend anywhere from $125 to $700 to have a metal ring guard added. As you can imagine, we were not going to pay that amount for a little piece of metal.
With the jeweler off the table, we took our search to the Internet where we came across a variety of alternative ring guards. The best part? They were a fraction of the price of the metal guard. Based on reviews, I decided to go with RinGuard for a whopping $8.49+ tax.
Once it finally came in the mail, I was excited to try it out and see if it would live up to its claim. Sure enough, it did not disappoint – once I put my ring on with the guard, it was not coming off my finger easily. Not only is it easy to get on the ring, but it’s also so comfortable that I can’t even feel it.
Thanks to a little research on our part, we were able to save hundreds of dollars. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to settle on the first option you’re presented with and that it’s financially beneficial to shop around.
